Practice Books: Simple Decoding

Our practice books are our simplest decodable texts. These are single word (Basic and Advanced Code), or very simple sentences (Complete the Code). Pictures do not match the words, and give no indication as to what the words say.

Camera word books are included, and provide irregular, high frequency, high utility words that students take a ‘snapshot’ in their mind.

In Basic Code decodable stories, our camera words found in the above books will be bolded as a scaffold, and decodable words are not. This scaffold disappears over time.

A 1:1 set is used for one-on-one work with a student, and contains one copy of every book.

A Full Class Edition (FCE) provides six copies of every book, which is useful for small group work, such as guided reading in a classroom setting.
